Colleen Loeffler Phonwiang, CAE, MNA, joined CompTIA-AITP in January 2017.
AITP was a 67-year-old information technology (IT) professional association that joined forces with CompTIA in late 2016, says Loeffler Phonwiang. “My role as director was created to manage the IT Pro individual member organization and make it a 21st century professional society to attract skilled talent to the tech industry,” she explains.
Within the first year, she and her team grew membership from 3,100 legacy members to more than 12,800 current members. A new brand identity was created for the organization, and Loeffler Phonwiang led the development of a new array of member benefits, including career resources and lifestyle discounts on travel, entertainment, and insurance. She restructured the organization’s governance and developed a student program to engage more college students.
