The Committee of 200 is the pre-eminent global organization for women business leaders and is publically recognized for making a profound impact on the advancement of women in business. Its mission is to foster, celebrate, and advance women’s leadership in business.
The Committee of 200 (C200) is a membership organization of more than 500 of the world’s most successful women entrepreneurs and corporate innovators. C200 members, in their professional roles, are collectively responsible more than $1.4 trillion in annual corporate and non-profit business revenues. C200 offers unique knowledge-sharing programming and supportive networking opportunities in an unparalleled peer community of women who share a commitment to personal and professional advancement. The C200 and its foundation, C200 Foundation, have combined revenues of approximately $3M annually. Major sources of revenue include member dues, fees for member programs, and Foundation donations and sponsorships. Through its Foundation, C200 has distributed more than $1.5M in Scholar Awards.
In support of the C200 strategic plan, the Executive Director (ED) has the responsibility to develop, implement, and execute the annual plan and annual budget, as approved by the Board. The ED oversees communications, including marketing and public relations; membership; member programs and activities including partnering with corporations for program support; IT; financial management and accounting; and human resources. In addition, the Executive Director is responsible for all Foundation programs, including opportunities to partner with corporate sponsors, educational and research institutions and other groups in order to cultivate long-term strategic partnerships and/or donor relationships and so increase the organization’s effectiveness.
The ED manages the day-to-day affairs of the organization and directs the staff to implement the goals and objectives determined by the Joint Boards (C200 and C200 Foundation). The ED is responsible for the successful leadership and management of C200 staff, currently composed of six full-time employees, one contractor, and seasonal interns. The ED defines the structure and responsibilities of the staff roles and their interactions with members. The ED also assigns and oversees staff liaisons to the Board for purposes of committee work they support.
BA or BS degree required, MBA preferred; minimum 7 years P&L experience with For-Profit and/or Not-For-Profit organizations; experience in leadership and management roles; experience working with boards and volunteer leadership; financial knowledge and business acumen required; experience managing staff; experience working with membership organizations a significant plus; strong leadership, communication and relationship-building skills; development and fundraising experience preferred.
